Tiger Woods' Back Pain Forces Withdrawal from 2014 Masters
After years of recurrent injuries Tiger Woods has been forced out from the 2014 Masters. A tournment that he has participated in for the last 20 years. Tiger announced on his website that he has undergone a microdiscectopy.
A microdiscectomy is a surgical procedure done to remove a small portion of a vertebral disc that is irritating a specific spinal nerve. The irritation and localized inflammation can cause sharp, shooting pain and makes general movement difficult. Let alone elite level golf.
Golf reporters and sport analysts alike have already started to debate whether Tiger will be able to return to the world number one ranking.
Here is to hoping that his rehabilitation goes well and that he is soon able to participate in the game that he loves at the elite level.
